A request by the Windsor Police Services Board to have the appeal of disgraced Const. Dorothy Nesbeth expedited has been denied.

Officials with the Ontarian Civilian Police Commission say they won't speed up Nesbeth's appeal.

Thomas Bell, counsel for the OCPC says they are aware of the boards' concern, but he says their policies must be followed regardless of the situation.

Board vice-chair Joanne Gignac admits the chances of having the appeal expedited was slim.

“There will continue to be public scrutiny in terms of the length of time,” says Gignac. “We will continue to press to see changes, but in the meantime, we deal with what’s in front of us.”

Nesbeth was suspended with pay for more than three years, until she was found guilty of deceit last October.

In December, she was fired from the force.

But as soon as Nesbeth launched her appeal of the dismissal,  she went back onto the Windsor police payroll, as stipulated in their contracts.
