Windsor police say a purse and its contents have been returned after posting a surveillance video on social media of the theft at a Walker Road restaurant.

Officers were sent to Yayas Flame Broiled Chicken at 4140 Walker Road around 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 7.

An employee at the restaurant told police she had gone on a break and brought her purse to a table in the dining area. She says she left the purse briefly and assisted some customers in the restaurant. When she returned to the table her purse was apparently missing.

Police released the video at 8 a.m. Thursday morning asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects.  Crime Stoppers officials say they received three tips from callers on the video and at 12 p.m. the male and female in the video returned the purse and contents to Windsor Police Headquarters.

The video inside the restaurant showed a man and woman enter and order food and go to the dining area. Police say the female took the purse and went to the washroom. The couple left the restaurant together with the female now allegedly carrying the purse.

Police say the victim is satisfied with getting her property returned and the matter will not be proceeding any further.

The black Coach purse and its contents, including an iPhone 5 and case, were valued at $1,000.

The couple can be seen entering the restaurant at 15:19:45 till 15:20:03 (on the time stamp.) They are observed leaving at 15:31:15 till 15:32:06(on the time stamp.)
