Windsor police are seeking a suspect and witnesses after an alleged road rage incident on Tuesday.

Police were called to Cabana Rd. E. and Howard Ave. around 3:45 by a complainant who told police he was westbound on Cabana, west of Provincial Rd. when he was cut off.

He said he became angry and followed the suspect vehicle closely for about 40 seconds when it came to an abrupt stop, more than 130 metres from the intersection at Howard.

He said he then raised his middle finger through his windshield, at which point the suspect got out of his vehicle and began walking towards him with a large hunting knife.

The complainant said he couldn't back up because there was a black Ford F-150 behind him so he got out of his car and quickly ran away.

The suspect allegedly ran toward him but then stopped near the complainant's vehicle, yelling, "You think you are tough now?"

The complainant said he responded from a distance saying, "Hey man, it's Christmas, I did not mean anything by it."

The suspect then allegedly turned toward the complainant's vehicle and slashed his tire before returning to his own vehicle and speeding away erratically.

The suspect is described as a white male, 23-25 years of age, 5'10"-6' tall with a skinny build, brown brush-cut hair and crooked yellow teeth, wearing a three-quarter length baggy brown winter coat, blue jeans and white shoes.

He was reportedly driving a black, two-door Pontiac G5 or G6 with a partial plate of BRXE 3.

Police are seeking any witnesses to this incident and assistance in identifying the suspect or his vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-255-6700 Ext. 4305 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477.
