Three people were taken to hospital after a crash on the E.C. Row Expressway near Walker Road.

Windsor police closed the Expressway after multiple vehicles collided around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers arrived along with Windsor Fire and EMS and observed two vehicles with very heavy damage in the eastbound lanes.

Police say a grey Mazda was westbound in the curb lane on EC Row in the area of Central Avenue.  Information was provided to police that a white vehicle travelling in the passing lane allegedly began to merge into the curb lane and may have made contact with the grey Mazda.

The alleged impact caused the grey Mazda to lose control and cross through the centre median into the eastbound lane of E.C. Row.

Police say the grey Mazda then collided with a red Mazda vehicle which was travelling east.

The driver of the grey Mazda sustained serious injuries.  The passenger was ejected and sustained very serious injuries.

The driver of the red Mazda sustained very serious injuries but not life threatening.  She had to be extracted from the vehicle by Windsor fire and EMS. All of the people involved were transported to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information about the involved white vehicle or the collision to call.  The white vehicle may have damage on the right side.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4211, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), online at www.catchcrooks.com, or Submit a Tip on Facebook.
