Chatham-Kent OPP are asking for the public’s assistance to help track down a vehicle involved in a collision Sunday on Highway 401 at Mull Road.

OPP say at 12:50 p.m., they were called to a two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes.

They say a black Chevrolet Cavalier made contact with a white Ford pickup truck that was towing a camper trailer. The truck and trailer went into the ditch and two people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the male driver of the Cavalier and his female passenger stopped momentarily and got out of the vehicle before heading westbound.

Witnesses told OPP the car was being driven erratically before the collision.

OPP say the Cavalier had major damage to the passenger side of the vehicle and it may have white or silver paint on it from the collision.

The west lanes of the 401 were closed during the investigation but have re-opened.
