A man is unconscious in hospital after police say he was beaten during an early morning robbery.

Windsor police were called to the 1600 block of Windsor Avenue on Tuesday, around 12:30 a.m. for a reported robbery. When officers arrived they found a 56-year-old man lying on the sidewalk – bleeding severely from his head.

Through their investigation police say two suspects demanded money from the victim. The two individuals then allegedly attacked the man, by kicking and stomping on him.

The victim remains unconscious in the Intensive Care Unit with several facial fractures and possible internal head trauma.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s, standing 5’9”, with a medium build and short hair. He was last seen wearing light pants, a dark long sleeved shirt and a string backpack.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s, standing about 5’ 10”, with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a toque, a black leather coat, and jeans.
