Windsor police has released a photograph of a person of interest in a downtown robbery that saw an elderly woman held up at knife point.

Investigators say a suspect armed with a knife robbed the woman in the area of Ouellette and Wyandotte Street on Monday, striking her in the face in the process.

A witness then reportedly pushed the suspect into a wall, forcing him to drop the purse.

The woman was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after suffering a cut to her nose.

Detectives with the major crimes unit are looking to speak with this person of interest. He’s described as a white male in his mid-30’s, weighing about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black tee shirt and grey cargo shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
