Windsor police are looking for two suspects after a man was allegedly tied up and robbed when he returned home to find two men inside.

It took place on Monday at 10:50 p.m. at a residence in the 1000 block of California Avenue.

Officers called to the scene were approached by a male victim outside the residence, who was bleeding from cuts to his head.

The victim told police he had returned home shortly after 10 p.m. after studying with a friend. He noticed that his front bedroom curtain was drawn down. He thought this was suspicious and looked into the house from the front door window. He saw two men at the back of the residence in the laundry room.

Police say the victim ran back and confronted the suspects as they left out the back door. One of the suspects produced a silver handgun and the second suspect was holding a knife. The suspects ordered the victim into the residence and were demanding valuables as they brought him from room to room.

The victim was struck in the head several times, officers say. The suspects took the victims cell phone and wallet from his pocket and a small amount of cash from his bedroom.

He was tied up with an extension cord before the men fled the residence. The victim eventually untied himself and went to a neighbour's home for help. He was taken to hospital and received staples and stitches to close cuts to his head.

The first suspect is described as a white man, 25 years old, 6’0” tall with a stocky build. He had bushy eyebrows, dark hair and a round face. He was wearing a dark baseball cap and had a silver handgun.

The second suspect is described as a white man, 25, 6'2", with a skinny build and medium-length hair. He was wearing a light grey hoodie. He was in possession of a small knife.
