Essex County OPP are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery at a convenience store in Belle River.

It happened around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say a male entered a convenience store in the 400 block of Notre Dame Street, produced a weapon and demanded that the victim open the till and give the suspect money.

The suspect apparently received an undisclosed sum and left the store.

Lakeshore OPP, Essex County OPP canine, and the Emergency Response Team arrived within minutes and searched the area with negative results.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’7” – 5’8” tall, 140 to 150 pounds, with an average to thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black running shoes with white soles and laces, black gloves and a black balaclava covering his face.
