Windsor police have released the name of the man arrested for attempted murder on Sunday.
Sonny Edward St. Martin, 28, was arraigned in court Monday. Police say he crashed into the front porch of a home on Hickory Avenue.
Witnesses alleged the driver assaulted his common-law wife, who escaped from the vehicle and was followed by the driver.
Police say she has facial injuries from an earlier assault.
Windsor emergency services extricated Martin from the Ford F150 pickup truck. He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
He was first arrested under impaired driving suspicions, but was later charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, assault, theft of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.
Police say both major crime and domestic violence units are investigating.
