Windsor police and the Windsor Fire and Rescue Hazmat Team were investigating a suspicious powder at a downtown bank.

The substance was tested and is not dangerous, according to police.

Police say it was found in a safety deposit box at the National Bank at 1 Riverside Dr. W around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The Explosive Disposal Unit went to the scene and contained the area. Police say the safety deposit box was opened by bank staff because of non-payment.

The explosives unit is conducting an investigation.
