Windsor police say they've recovered a firearm that was stolen from a Windsor Canadian Tire store.

Following an investigation, police obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 5400 block of Reginald Street. Officers entered the residence around 2 p.m. Thursday and located a rifle, airsoft rifle and an replica handgun.

Police say the rifle was one of the stolen firearms from a break and enter at the Canadian Tire on Walker Road in June.

Police say the suspect came home while police were still on scene and was placed under arrest.

A 47-year-old man is charged with possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of a stolen firearm.

Both firearms taken from the Canadian Tire store have now been recovered.
