Windsor police say three people have been arrested in connection to a shooting incident in Ford City.

On Tuesday, officers with the Emergency Services Unit conducted a high risk vehicle stop in the area of Kildare Avenue and Ottawa Street, around 2 p.m. A red Pontiac vehicle was stopped and three occupants were taken into custody.

Police say a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a SCCY 9mm pistol.

Steven Atkinson, 34, of Windsor is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm no licence, two counts of fail to comply with condition of judicial release, breach probation and two counts of possess firearm while prohibited.

Jordane Mootoosamy, 21, of Windsor is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm no licence.

A 17-year-old, from Toronto is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm no licence and fail to comply with condition of undertaking to officer.

The charges are in connection to shots being fire within a residence in the 1000 block of Drouillard Road on Monday around 2:30 p.m. Police previously reported that three individuals were seen leaving the building after four gun shots were heard.

Investigators say there was no evidence that anyone was hurt in the incident, but that several bullet casings were discovered at the scene.

A separate individual was arrested Tuesday night, after allegedly kicking in a door to the same building. The 30-year-old male suspect has since been released on a promise to appear in court on a charge of unlawfully in a dwelling. It’s unclear if the man has any connection to the shooting incident.
