A person of interest wanted in connection to a knife-point robbery in downtown Windsor has been arrested.

As CTV Windsor reported Tuesday night, a 35-year-old man was arrested at Central Mall just before 6 p.m. The arrest came hours after Windsor police released photographs of a person of interest through social and traditional media.

Police say they received a tip from a citizen that indicated the person in the photos was sitting on a bench at the mall.

Investigators say a suspect armed with a knife robbed the woman in the area of Ouellette and Wyandotte Street on Monday, striking her in the face in the process.

A witness then reportedly pushed the suspect into a wall, forcing him to drop the purse.

The woman was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after suffering a cut to her nose.

Neil Lockwood, 35, is charged with robbery with a weapon.
