Parking enforcement officers in Windsor are taking a zero tolerance approach when it comes to parking in a no parking zone near schools.

They were in the neighbourhood of Vincent Massey Secondary School on Wednesday, handing out tickets to people who stopped their vehicles near the school.

The officers are focusing their efforts on Rankin Avenue, Liberty Street and Glenwood Avenue.

They are addressing concerns of illegal parking and stopping, which are creating safety issues for students and residents.

About 29 tickets were handed out. The fines range from $40-to-$100.

Police warn these traffic blitzes will continue at Massey and other school zones in the city.
