A gym full of parents gave Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board officials an 'earful' about the director of education's plan for the riverside family of schools.

All parent-delegates who spoke at Tuesday night public meeting were opposed to some or all of school board director Paul Picard's recommendations.

Under Picard's plan, St. Maria Goretti would close as of September 2014 – putting those students in either St. John Vianney or St. Rose schools.

Administration also plans to eventually close St. Rose and merge students into St. John Vianney.

F.J.Brennan would become a grades seven to 12 school.

By 2015 Picard recommends building a new school at the current St. Bernard site, which would merge existing schools and result in closure of St. Jules.
