Southern Ontario mayors gathered Thursday to talk about a number of issues, including lack of governing party representation in the provincial legislature.

Over 20 mayors attended the South Shores Mayors of Ontario event in Chatham, including Windsor mayor Drew Dilkens and Chatham mayor Randy Hope.

The topics up for discussion included the lack of a governing party MPP representing the South Shores area in the provincial legislature, municipal priorities and a united municipal voice on issues as federal and provincial budgets approach.

Another item on the agenda was creating a platform of issues that affect the group of municipalities, especially as a federal election might occur in the spring or fall of 2015.
