Organizers in Windsor say the Fina World Swimming Championship is on budget heading into the final countdown before the event.
The estimated economic benefit is $20 million for the region. The budget is $11.26 million. Windsor has committed $3 million.
The theme is ‘feel the power’ - a reflection of the powerful athletes and a powerful community.
About 700 volunteers will work throughout the event from Dec. 6-11.
The hotels, restaurants, and caterers in the region say they will provide a comfortable place to sleep and great Windsor food to eat.
There are also nearly 200 local contractors, suppliers, and sponsors that have contributed to this event. There are approximately $4 million in local contracts.
The Technical and Production Director is Adam Mars. He is a Windsor native and he tells CTV Windsor the production "is going to blow people away."
