TORONTO - Ontario's health minister says a technical problem with the province's organ donor website may have affected the online registrations of up to 60,000 donors.

Eric Hoskins issued a statement Tuesday saying some registrations made at Service Ontario's "Be A Donor" website between March 23, 2013, and Sept. 19, this year may have resulted in incomplete or inaccurate records.

A letter will be sent to those affected by the glitch, explaining what happened and telling them how to update their information to make sure it is complete and accurate.

Hoskins says the glitch did not affect any donations of organs or tissue made by registered individuals or impact the security of anyone's information.

Hoskins says he took action to fix the problem as soon as it was discovered.

He says the website was taken down and the technical issue resolved, adding that the site is now back up and people can continue to register as organ and tissue donors.
