Opponents of a big box development near Ojibway Park are still in need of funds for an upcoming hearing with the Ontario Municipal Board.

The group "Save Ojibway" is holding a campaign to raise $10,000 to pay for a traffic expert and cover legal bills to halt the development.

They're asking 100 families to donate $10. To date, the group says they have raised $1,800. Anyone looking to donate is asked to mail cheques to Nancy Pancheshan, 1270 Golfview Dr., LaSalle, Ont., N9J 1Y7.

City council supported the redevelopment of the property at Sprucewood Avenue and Matchette Road on Sept. 9.
