An Essex man is charged, following a robbery at a Mac’s Milk on Friday morning.

Provincial police were called to 196 Talbot St. N. around 12:30 a.m. for a report of man allegedly demanding money from the Mac’s Milk with a handgun.

OPP say the man made off with a small amount of cash, but officers and a K-9 unit apprehended the suspect a short distance away. No injuries are reported.

The 27-year-old is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, robbery with a weapon, possession of a schedule one substance, fail to comply with a probation order and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

He will appear in court at a future date.
