A suspect has been apprehended, after he shot another male in the face and body several times with a pellet gun, police say.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Talbot Street East in Leamington just after 12:30 p.m. today.

Const. Stephanie Moniz tells CTV Windsor that a 33-year-old man was arrested shortly before 2 p.m. on Princess Avenue. The pellet gun was also located at that residence and seized.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim and suspect were known to each other.  No one else was injured in the incident.

The suspect will be held for a bail hearing and several charges are pending.

Officers scoured Leamington for the suspect after receiving the call about a shooting in the town’s downtown.

OPP, the Essex Emergency Response (ERT) team, the Essex County K-9 unit, as well as the Essex OPP Crime Unit were involved in the search.
