The Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corp. (WEEDC) says HGS has selected Windsor as the location for their next inbound call centre.

“We have been working for some time now with HGS and we are delighted they will be setting up shop in Windsor…Welcome,” said Sandra Pupatello, CEO of WEEDC.

HGS is expected to move very quickly to select a location and the recruit a minimum of 400 people to join their team.

Windsor was chosen after a very successful job fair was held in the city last fall.

Kathy Follett-Lloyed, vice president of human resources for HGS Canada said in a statement, “Our market assessment of the City of Windsor last fall was a qualified success on all levels with us receiving over 1,600 highly skilled applications. We quickly realized that the residents of Windsor will be loyal and high performing ambassadors for us as their employer."

The location in Windsor will be the 11th for the company, which also credits the Mayor's office and WEEDC for their decision.

Among the jobs the new centre will bring to the city are management, support-level positions and front-line customer service.
