New Democrat MP Brian Masse has signed his registration papers to run in the upcoming election.

He is officially running in Windsor West, signing up on Wednesday.

Masse plans on doing a lot of door knocking in the next two months.

He has served as critic for small business, tourism, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, and for the Great Lakes and the Canada–US Border.

Masse was first elected to the House of Commons in 2002 and was the first NDP elected federally to represent Windsor West.

He’ll run against Conservative candidate Henry Lau, who just announced his intentions on Friday. The Liberals do not have a candidate yet.

The federal election is on Oct. 19.
