A rainfall warning remains in effect in Windsor-Essex a day after the region say a month’s worth of rain in just a few hours.

Environment Canada says amount will be highly variable but the region can expect anywhere from 20-50mm of additional rain Friday.

Rainfall amounts since Wednesday evening have varied from 95 mm at Windsor Airport to 150 mm or greater in some areas.  Tecumseh officials say over 200 millimetres of rain fell in the area in less than 24 hours.

Sates of emergency were declared in both Windsor and Tecumseh after heavy rain wreaked havoc, causing roads and basements to flood.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning that is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.

The rain is being produced by a slow moving low pressure system over the Ohio Valley.
