Six new charges have been laid against a Windsor man accused of pretending to be a doctor.

At a court hearing on Tuesday, Darko Jovanovich was handed four new fraud-related charges, one charge of uttering forged documents and one charge of assault.

These new charges come months after police arrested Jovanovich for allegedly posing as a doctor and a paediatric neurosurgeon on five victims between the ages of four and 40.

The accused also allegedly tried to obtain $50,000 from a Windsor family by offering a surgery that could cure a young child.

It’s unclear if these charges are in connection to new victims. Jovanovich has previously been charged with a number of fraud-related offences.

The 32-year-old will appear back in court on Monday.
