Molly Matters protesters held another demonstration outside the Ontario Court building in downtown Windsor Friday.

Inside the courthouse, 26-year-old Matthew Brush made another appearance as he faces a first degree murder charge in the death of Cassandra Kaake. His case was put over until Sept. 9.

Kaake was seven months pregnant at the time of her death and the unborn child was to be named Molly.

Protesters from the group Molly Matters, including the child’s father Jeff Durham, say that Brush should also be charged in the death of the unborn baby.

Canadian law does not recognize Molly as a second victim. A petition has been started to get the law changed and protesters plan to have copies on hand for people to sign.

So far more than 8,500 people have signed the petition, which can be found online here.

Kaake. 31, was found dead in her home on December, 11, 2014.
