Windsor police say a female employee wrestled a sawed off shotgun in a bag from a man who was allegedly using it to hold up a business.

Officers were called out to the 3100 block of Tecumseh Road East on Thursday night for a report of an assault.

They met a woman with non-life threatening injuries and learned she was a victim of a robbery after a man forced his way past another employee and demanded cash at a business.

The man threatened he had a gun in the bag and the woman grabbed it when a struggled ensued.

She ran from the business to yell for help, but the suspect followed and her assaulted her when a nearby citizen called authorities.

The suspect fled without the bag, but police later discovered a man in a shed.

Christopher Johns, 28, from Windsor, is facing a number of charges including two counts of pointing a weapon.
