A community job fair will be held next month in Chatham-Kent.

Employees who may be looking for staff are asked to consider participating in the CK Works Community Job Fair from 2-7 p.m. on October 11 at the John D. Bradley Centre

It's being held by the Chatham Kent Employment Resource Centre along with the Chatham Kent Workforce Planning Board.

As well, the EmployerOne survey is out and it reveals that 37 per cent of respondents reported that they had at least one position in 2016 they were not able to fill. The number one reason they reported was not getting enough applicants.

The EmployerOne Survey is an annual consultation done with employers in the Chatham-Kent area.  It is designed to give employers a voice regarding challenges they face within their workforce.

Sixty-three percent of employers who completed the 2016 EmployerOne Survey in January reported that they were planning on hiring in 2017 (for a total of 1036 positions: 455 full time; 246 part time; 101 contract; and 234 seasonal).

Due to survey results organizers of the job fair hope to increase the reach and help employers meet more applicants to be able to better fill their needed positions.
