The Ministry of Labour is launching two province-wide inspection blitzes aimed at protecting young workers in seasonal, part-time or temporary jobs this summer.

The province says people who are new to the workforce, including young workers, are three times more likely to be injured in the first month than at any time.

It says they're also at greater risk of having their employment standards rights violated, including unpaid wages.
