U.S. Customs officers at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel arrested a man on an outstanding warrant after he was refused entry into Canada.

He was stopped by Canada Border Services Agency officers on Aug. 29.

U.S. officials say checks of national databases along with finger prints confirmed Allen Rosenthal was a United States citizen. Border agents say he was a positive match to records for nationwide extradition out of Fairfax, Virginia for obscene communication and proposing sex by computer with a child.

“This latest arrest is another prime example of U.S. Customs and Border Protection collaborating with our law enforcement partners to ensure the safety and security in our respective communities.” Roderick Blanchard, CBP port director in Detroit, said in a release.

Rosenthal was turned over to Wayne County Sheriff’s Department pending extradition to Virginia
