A man who is suspended from driving for life is facing charges following a traffic stop in Chatham.

According to Chatham-Kent police, an officer stopped a vehicle on Grand Avenue West in Chatham when he discovered a licence plate did match the car it was attached to.

Police learned that the driver is suspended from driving for life as a result of numerous convictions.

A 63-year-old Chatham man is charged with driving while disqualified, possession of property obtained by a crime, driving while under suspension, failing to surrender the ownership, and driving without insurance.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
