A man was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after getting shot on Ridout Street, according to London police.

Police say a 911 call was made at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday in relation to an injured male on Ridout  near Kent Street.

Officers say the man was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to London Health Sciences Centre, where he remains in critical condition.

Major Crime Section members are continuing the investigation.

There have been no arrests made and there is currently no suspect information available. There have been no weapons recovered in relation to the incident.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who resides in, or who was traveling through, the area to contact police to report observations of suspicious activity of any kind around the time of the incident.
