A memorial service was held Saturday to honour the life of a local man, who died in a motorcycle crash last month.

Jim Gammon, 56, an experienced rider, passed away June 4 as a result of injuries suffered in a collission at Richmond and Chilver.

The service was held at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral  Home and another service is planned for Saturday night.

Police say Gammon suffered a skull fracture when his motorcycle collided with a minivan. The female driver and her nine-month-old baby were not hurt in the crash. Gammon was rushed to hospital, where he had emergency neurosurgery.

Gammon's son Evan tells CTV News he hopes the accident reminds drivers to be aware of motorcycles and bikes on the roads.
