A Windsor man is charged after taking a speedy trip to get a late night snack.

Windsor police officers on patrol Tuesday, around 1:30 a.m. say they witnessed a 2010 GMC Canyon pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed on Hannah Street East.

Investigators say the vehicle fish-tailed, while running a stop sign at Hanna and Howard Avenue. That’s when police activated their emergency lights and attempted to pull over the vehicle.

The pickup continued down Hanna, and turned onto Mercer Street – eventually stopping for officers. Police spoke with the driver, who indicated that he was going to Taco Bell.

Officers say the driver exhibited signs of impairment and refused to provide an adequate breath sample for analysis.
