A man is facing an impaired driving charge after a single vehicle accident on the westbound lanes of the EC Row Expressway Monday night.

Windsor police responded to the collision near the Dominion Boulevard off-ramp around 6 p.m.

Officers say the driver of a GMC pickup truck careened into a cement post which supports a pedestrian bridge.

Police had to close off a section of the roadway for two hours as crews cleared debris.

Upon speaking with the driver, police say he exhibited signs of inebriation.

A 46-year-old Tecumseh man is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 mg blood alcohol content.

The man will appear in court on Jan. 21.
