A local comedian who used his sense of humour to battle cancer and inspire others has died.

Josh Haddon passed away Friday, according to a statement on his website.

“Josh had a big heart and will not be forgotten,” the statement said.

The 30-year-old was a much loved member of the community. He founded the Comedy Quarry at the Rockhead Pub on Ottawa Street.

Haddon was about to release a book called The Funny Thing about Cancer to help other cancer patients get through difficult times.

His website will remain up as a tribute to him.
