The leader of the federal Liberal party is attending a rally in Windsor today.

Justin Trudeau was scheduled for the event at the Ciociaro Club at 6 p.m. He met with Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens earlier in the afternoon.

Trudeau spent the last two days at winter caucus meetings in London.

He has been heavily criticized for refusing to spell out his economic policy details in advance of this year's election.

But Trudeau cast that as virtue yesterday, in light of the oil price plunge, saying it's a sign he's more prudent and fiscally responsible.

The Liberals were entirely shut out of southwestern Ontario in the 2011 election.
