An 18-year-old Leamington man has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death after a crash involving a pedestrian Sunday night.
OPP say a 55-year-old Leamington man was walking northbound on Fox Street near Askew Street in Leamington around 8 p.m.
Police have identified the deceased person as Robert Wallingford, from Leamington.
Police say he was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Cavalier being driven by the 18-year-old Leamington man. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries sustained at the crash.
The intersection of Fox and Askew was closed until about 12:30 a.m. Monday.
