Blue green algae is getting a closer look by students at Leamington District Secondary School.
An eco-team is hosting a summit to address the harmful algae blooms which seem to plague parts of Lake Erie annually.
Students have invited a number of speakers to the May 20 event - including Essex MP Jeff Watson, Pelee Island mayor Rick Masse and a scientist from the international joint commission.
Registrants are asked to rsvp to lisa.jeffery@publicboard.ca by May 15.
