A 29-year-old LaSalle man faces impaired driving charges after he was stopped by Chatham-Kent OPP officers conducting a R.I.D.E. program.

Officers stopped a 2007 Jeep at 11:19 p.m. on the westbound off ramp of the Highway 401 at Queens Line on Thursday.

Police say an investigation determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and he failed a roadside alcohol test. Another alcohol test at the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment revealed that he had over double the legal limited of alcohol in his system.

Brandon Osborne, 29, was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.
