OPP say a 19-year-old LaSalle man has been charged with internet luring and child pornography-related offences.

Members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit charged the man following an investigation.

In November 2015, police from Wichita, Kansas received a complaint in regards to an internet luring matter.

Police say the suspect was communicating online with a 10-year-old child and engaging in sexually explicit conversation.

During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect was believed to be from Ontario.

In May 2016, the matter was forwarded to the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit for investigation.

On May 26, as a result of this investigation, OPP, Windsor police and LaSalle police officers executed a search warrant at a LaSalle residence.

A laptop computer, cellular telephone and data storage devices were seized.

Police say some of these devices contained images of child sexual abuse. These items are pending forensic analysis.

Michael William MacKenzie Martin, 19, of LaSalle was charged with one count of internet luring, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.

The accused was held in custody and for a bail hearing on Thursday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor Ontario.

The investigation is continuing.
