Lakeshore officials are telling residents that the OPP will be towing vehicles parked on the roadway impeding snow removal.
The town warns any resident who has a vehicle parked on the road should move it as soon as possible. Police will be towing vehicles to give the town unobstructed access to plow roads.
The Highway Traffic Act states “No person shall park a vehicle on a highway (roadway) in a manner as to interfere with the clearing of snow from the highway.”
The OPP has the authority through the Highway Traffic Act to remove any vehicle that contravenes. The cost of the removal would be billed to the owner of the vehicle.
