Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will have a new leader this fall, when president and CEO Ken Deane steps down.

The hospital announced Wednesday morning that Deane will step down from his position on Sept. 7. Deane informed the board of directors in April of his intentions to resign.

“We completed the realignment and transition – we have a new vision and strategic directions – we have a strong team and they are more than ready to lead the organization forward,” Deane stated.

Deane rejoined the hospital in January 2011 as a provincially appointed supervisor. Once his tenure was up, he stayed with the hospital as CEO and president. Officials say Deane helped restore public confidence and staff morale.

He also helped oversee the realignment of hospital responsibilities with Windsor Regional Hospital.

Deane will be replaced by VP of clinical programs and chief nursing executive, Janice Kaffer.
