The Ouellette Avenue overpass was closed overnight as police investigators looked into a head-on collision.
Officers say a Ford Fusion travelling south in the northbound lane of Ouellette, when police say a head-on collision occurred with a Chrysler Neon just after 10:00 p.m. Thursday.
The 26-year-old driver of the Neon had to be extricated from her vehicle. Both drivers were transported to hospital.
The 44-year-old driver of the Fusion was arrested for alleged impaired driving. Police say the accused is also charged with refusal to provide a blood sample.
The Maidstone woman was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 11.
