Ikea is coming to Windsor.

The Swedish furniture store is opening up a pick-up and order point location. It will have a showroom, but most of the items are to order only.

About 35 people will be hired at the new location, which is planned for the old Future Shop site. It will be about 35,000 square feet.

Spring 2016 is the target opening.

Ikea Canada president Stefan Sjostrand and Mayor Drew Dilkens are made the announcement in Windsor this morning.

There are also pick-up centres opening in London, St. Catharines, Whitby, and Quebec City.
