The Windsor-Essex Humane Society is encouraging pet owners to take advantage of several discounted animal services over the next few months.

The local vet veterinary community has seen an increase in the number of cases of parvovirus in dogs and panleukopenia in cats in the past year. Several clinics in the Windsor-Essex area are offering vaccines for $50 from Feb. 1-15. This includes the Cat Clinic of Windsor, Downtown Animal Hospital, Central Animal Hospital, Lesperance Animal Hospital, and Rivard Animal Hospital.

The Humane Society Veterinary Clinic is offering microchips for $20 from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday. Registration opens at 9 a.m.

The shelter would like to remind pet owners that license dog tag fees in Windsor double Feb. 1. Tags for spayed or neutered dogs are $15 and $32 for an unaltered dog. They can be purchased at the humane society or directly from the City of Windsor.

The humane society is extending the spay/neuter discounts until May 31. Male cat neuters are $50 and female cat spays are $75. For more information or to book an appointment call 519-966-1118.
