Windsor police are investigating a “suspicious” fire on Hickory Road.

Firefighters and officers were called to the 1100 block of Hickory Road on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for a working house fire.

Damage is estimated at approximately $440,000 to three homes - $250,000 to 1133 Hickory, $150,000 to 1127 Hickory and $40,000 to 1129 Hickory.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters. Two children were in the residence at the time and were able to get out safely. 

The arson unit attended and are working with Windsor fire on the investigation.

 Investigation revealed that the fire started on the exterior of the residence at the rear. 

Police say information has been received that there may have been someone on the back porch just prior to the fire.
