Windsor and Essex County residents will be trying to stay hydrated and cool with hot weather in the forecast for most of the week.

Pools, splash pads and air-conditioned public areas might be busier than normal.

Environment Canada predicts temperatures to hover around 30 C or higher throughout the week, with mostly sunny skies.

The forecaster has already issued heat alerts for many regions of Ontario, although one has not yet been issued for Windsor-Essex.

In hot weather, the Windsor-Essex Health Unit usually asks residents to avoid strenuous outside activity and plan outdoor activities wisely, as well as drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothes and a hat.

Anyone experiencing heat-related symptoms should seek assistance, for more details on what to look for visit the health unit's website.
