A cold weather alert has been issued for Windsor-Essex.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Allen Heimann issued the cold weather alert Thursday effective until Saturday.
Environment Canada predicts air temperatures will fall below -18 C Thursday night and -25 C on Friday night.
Heimann warns prolonged exposure to these extreme temperatures could result in hypothermia and frostbite.
